Kingyo (goldfish) Festival

An established event in early summer in Shonai Town.

Shonai Goldfish is a branded goldfish that is also called "Furisode Goldfish" because of its long tail and elegant swimming appearance. Shonai goldfish and nishikigoi are sold every day during the festival, and markets and stalls are lined up to brighten up the early summer of Shonai Town.
On Saturdays and Sundays, it becomes a pedestrian zone, and there are lotteries where you can win shopping tickets, goldfish scooping, accessory workshops, and balloon artists.
