Byakkosan Kosho Temple
6th of the 33 sacred places visited during the Rakuyo Kannon Pilgrimage in Shonai
This is one of the 33 Kannon Pilgrimage places in Shonai. Many people from around Japan make the pilgrimage to the temple. It was said that in 861 when a monk was staying at Mt. Haguro, he established this temple after being led here by a white fox. It is the only temple in the town of Shonai that practices syncretization of Shinto with Buddhism.
